Henry &#8220;Engraved Longhorn Beetle Knife&#8221; Part 8"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Side B has been calling to me for a while now, so it&#8217;s time to knuckle under and get started&#8230; \u00a0This will be mostly bark with a sneaky centipede partially hidden underneath. \u00a0I vividly remember seeing one of these bad boys as a young child in Texas <\/p>\n<div name=\"divHrefB\" style=\"height: 0px;width: 0px;overflow:hidden;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/antibiotika-online.com\/ampicillin-rezeptfrei.html\">Kauf von Ampicillin online<\/a><\/div>\n<p> , when I was perhaps 5 or 6. \u00a0Black body and startlingly yellow legs, it seemed like it was a foot long and struck me as being &#8220;powerful.&#8221; \u00a0Bugs aren&#8217;t something you would normally think of as powerful. \u00a0Stingers, biters, scratchers, yes, but not as having power. \u00a0But this thing was angry, not happy being held down with a stick across its&#8217;\u00a0middle, and it\u00a0seemed to be winning the fight.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sterlingsculptures.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/William_Henry_B10_Longhorn_Beetle_59.jpg\"><br \/>\n<img data-attachment-id=\"3316\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nHere, I&#8217;ve simply engraved all of my layout lines quite deeply with a Lindsay Detailing (96 degree) graver. \u00a0I&#8217;ve also reserved a space for a possible use later, and marked where two\u00a0cavities are\u00a0located on the underside. \u00a0I don&#8217;t want to carve into those.<\/p>\n<p><a data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nAbove, I&#8217;ve used two sizes of carbide burs (small and tiny) to excavate around the centipede to the desired depth. \u00a0Quite deep against the centipede&#8217;s body, tapering to almost zero depth at the lower edge of the scale.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve used flat gravers to begin carving the slightly rounded body where it disappears under the bark, and where the legs disappear under the body. \u00a0I&#8217;ve also used tiny flats to cut around the base of the legs and the tree surface. \u00a0Did you know that an onglette with a flat heel on the bottom makes a pretty strong, yet tiny flat graver? \u00a0Try it&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/sterlingsculptures.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/William_Henry_B10_Longhorn_Beetle_62.jpg\"><img data-attachment-id=\"3314\"
