the \u201cPuget Sound Dagger\u201d Day 7"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I spent the day removing the background, a fairly tedious operation, but so worth it. \u00a0This really makes the whole piece come alive.<\/p>\n<p>I generally use an NSK micromotor grinder (35,000 rpm) and tiny carbide burrs to remove the metal from between the engraved elements, to a depth of about 1\/2 millimeter.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/sterlingsculptures.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/Puget_Sound_Dagger_33.jpg\"><br \/>\n<img data-attachment-id=\"81\"
